About

Pebble Hill Traditional is a public K-7 elementary school located in sunny Tsawwassen, just two blocks north of the Canada-USA border. Nestled in an expansive park-like setting, edged by large Cedars and Douglas Firs, the school boasts a serene environment free from the busyness of main roads but easily accessible and close to Tsawwassen’s many amenities.

As Delta’s first Traditional School, Pebble Hill defines and implements the Traditional School model in progressive terms. Teachers employ a wide range of engaging and effective instructional practices. As a school, we emphasize the importance of engaging with and contributing to community in all of its facets (from local to global). And, working closely with parents, we employ specific routines and procedures that emphasize a traditional, more formalized, decorum. It is this latter emphasis that truly differentiates us as a Traditional School. In a pragmatic sense, the emphasis on a more formalized decorum is evident through our school uniforms, our emphasis on formalized manners (for example, in greeting adults), and our coordinated frameworks related to academic and homework expectations. At a deeper level, the common commitment--shared by teachers, parents and students--to the traditional school model results in a warm and welcoming school environment that is cohesive, proud and ambitious.

Visitors to Pebble Hill Traditional can expect to find a vibrant school community where teachers and parents work together to support student learning. They can expect to see various community partners playing significant roles in bringing additional learning opportunities to our students. (Examples during this past school year included visits from experts in drama, art, gymnastics and music). Most importantly, visitors to our school can expect to find students who take full advantage of our efforts and the learning opportunities available to them by actively engaging as creative, happy and knowledgeable learners.
