Week at a Glance

Please remember to do the Daily Health Check with your child.  As of September 11th, Fraser Health has updated the Daily Health Check – please have a look at the new version.  Please follow Fraser Health’s guidelines if you answered “YES” to any of the questions.

THANK YOU FOR…

    • doing the The Daily Health Check .  It is the BEST protection we have for the students in our school – Thanks so much for your ongoing diligence with this throughout the year.
    • noting our procedure for picking up you child early or dropping him/her off late:  Picking up Early? Please call the office when you arrive and Mrs. Crawford will call down to your child’s class to have him/her released out the front door of the school.  Arriving on time is our first choice, but if your child needs to arrive late because of an appointment, please make sure your child knocks on the front door and Mrs. Crawford will let him/her so that he/she can sign in at the office.
    • If at all possible, please drop your child at the edge of the school grounds and let him/her proceed to his/her assigned lining up spot. If you must come onto school grounds, please respectfully distance at least 2m from anyone outside of your family.  We are hoping to pass along a clear message to students about spacing out on school grounds.  Thanks for your help with this!
    • remembering to send your child in proper uniform.  We are seeing lots of leggings and black pants.  Have a look at our guidelines here.

This Week at a Glance:

Monday, Sept 21 – Please dress in uniform this whole week, thanks!

Tuesday, Sept 22 – Terry Fox Run – classes will be running separately throughout the day.  In past years we have had parents join to watch.  This year, please do not come to the school for this event.  We will be honouring Terry and raising money to support cancer research in the individual classes.  Thanks for your support and understanding.

Wednesday, Sept 23 – Happy Wednesday!  (don’t forget photo day tomorrow)

Thursday, Sept 24 – Individual Photo Day **Please have students wear their crested tops, if possible**. Photos will be taken by guest photographers in the gym – very spaced out, adhering to strict health and safety protocols.

Friday, Sept 25 – Professional Development Day (No School for Students)

Masks:

Pebble Hill staff are required to wear masks in all the common areas at school.  Staff may or may not be wearing masks while they are with their classes with their learning groups.  Students may or may not be wearing masks at school.  Masks are definitely welcome here as we are very much a mask-friendly school.  If you don’t have access to a mask for your child, please let us know as we have some stock at the school.

Learning Groups:

Please note that the learning groups at Pebble Hill will be our classes.  Students will be placed in their classes the first day of school (Sept 10th) and they will stay in that learning group for the remainder of the year.  Students will play only with their learning group at recess and lunch.  Students are expected to stay a minimum of 2m away from other students not in their learning group/class.

School Supply Lists:

School supply lists for each grade are available here (on our website)  Please note: Due to COVID 19, we are not doing pre-ordered supplies through the school this year.  We are asking students to bring their own supplies starting Sept 14th.  There are several ways to order supplies online to have them delivered to you.  We find amazon.ca or staples.ca to be helpful websites for this.

Uniforms:

Please remember that students will need uniforms to attend school at Pebble Hill.  We have uniforms available through our supplier, Neat Uniforms.   If you need new uniforms for the fall, please have a look at this information from Neat Uniforms.  Our PAC will also be selling used uniforms  on Varage Sale – keep your eyes open!  Alternatively, there are several retail stores that sell items that fit our uniform guidelines.  Uniform Guidelines here.
