Week at a Glance

Thank you for..

    • …continuing to do the The Daily Health Check .  It is the BEST protection we have for our school community. Thank-you so much for your ongoing diligence with this throughout the year.  If your child is experiencing symptoms or if there is a situation that applies to your family and it’s not on the list, please seek out the recommendation of your health care professional.
    • …wearing a mask – we are noticing more parents wearing masks on school grounds.  Thanks!
    • …your donations to Deltassist: Our Grade 7s have typically collected and sorted cans for Deltassist to help families in our community.  This year, Deltassist is not accepting food donations, so we will be collecting money, cheques (payable to Pebble Hill Traditional) and Gift Cards for Save-on Foods or Walmart.  Thanks for your support of our local families.

Friday, Nov 27 – Happy Friday!

*IMPORTANT MESSAGE: With COVID-19 cases rising in BC, we are reminding parents not to be on the school grounds longer than needed and especially during drop-off and pick-up times. If you must be on school grounds, please maintain 2m distance from anyone outside of your immediate family and avoid socializing on the grounds. We recognize that we all miss social interactions but we need to work together during the pandemic.  Although masks are not mandatory for adults who are outside during drop-off and pick-up, we do encourage parents to wear one. Most importantly though, please help by social distancing and leaving the school grounds as soon as possible. Thank you!

Pebble Hill Panthers – Highlight of the Week:

Crazy Hair Day on Friday was super fun!  We love Spirit Days at Pebble Hill!

Important Information:

Focusing on the Positive:

  • As you may have seen on the district’s website and social media channels already, over the coming weeks we will be sharing some brief suggestions, tips and activities to help promote feelings of warmth, joy and gratitude.
  • Did you know that kindness is about the only thing in the world that doubles when you share it? I encourage you to take two minutes to watch this interesting video from the Random Acts of Kindness Foundation on the science of kindness.

Fraser Health Contact Tracing:

  • As shared in the district letter to parents and guardians last week, Fraser Health will reach out directly to families if they think their child has come into close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, and will ask them to take specific action, such as go for a COVID test or self-isolate. In case of COVID exposures at our school, we encourage you to answer phone calls, even if they are from an unknown number, as this will greatly assist Fraser Health with its contact tracing process.

PAC NEWS:

Upcoming PAC Meeting – Thursday, Nov 26th 7pm via Zoom (Link coming soon). See the agenda here: PAC-Agenda-Nov-2020

Fundraisers:

  • Thank you so much for making the Neufeld Farms Fundraiser a success!  Orders will be delivered to the school on Thursday November 26 and distributed to each seller/student beginning at 4:15 in the drive through loop.  Due to the Pandemic, we will offer as much of a contactless delivery by a PAC member directly to the trunk of your car, so no need to get out.  If you have any questions or are unable to pick up your order, please emailpac.pht@gmail.com for alternate arrangements.
  • Purdy’s Chocolate Fundraiser ends on November 26th, so be sure to get your orders in online!
  • We are pleased to offer Meridian/Ralphs Fresh Farm Gift Card Fundraiser which begins on Monday November 23rd.  Order forms will be sent home with each family with the order deadline of Monday December 7 end of day and cards ready for pick up on Friday December 11th, with more communication to follow. Please complete the yellow order form and collect cash or cheques made payable to Pebble Hill Traditional PAC and return to your teacher or a PAC Executive member
