INFORMATION FOR FAMILIES

Walk Your Wheels

Students are reminded to walk their wheels (bikes, scooters, rollerblades) on school grounds before (8:45am-9:00am) and after (3:00pm-3:15pm) school. This is for safety reasons as the school is very busy with children, adults, and pets at these times. We thank the students in advance for their co-operation.

Family Hardship

As per Administrative Procedure 506, the District is committed to ensuring that no student of school age will be denied an educational program due to financial hardship. Parents/caregivers unable to pay some or all of a school charge are invited to speak to their child’s teacher, school counsellor, and/or the principal. As always, all requests will be treated with dignity and your privacy will be respected. We want to work with our families to ensure that our students, your children, have everything they need in order to be successful at school.

Government Restrictions on PDDs (which include watches and ear buds)

Please be reminded that restrictions on the use of cellphones and other personal digital devices came into effect on July 1, 2024. The district emailed families regarding these changes on June 20. Halloween Costume Swaps, Contests and More at the Delta Libraries

Halloween may still be a little while away, but you’ll want to hear about the skele-TON of fun fast approaching at the Delta Libraries! Make your Halloween hex-tra special with these free programs.

Teen Halloween Diorama Contest

October 1 – 31 – Tsawwassen Library

Calling all tweens and teens (ages 9 – 19)! Create a haunting 3 dimensional scene using an assortment of supplies (and surprises) provided by the library. Diorama’s will be showcased in the library for customers to vote on.

October 1 – 17: Drop by the library any time to pick up your package of supplies.

October 17: Submissions are due by this date. Completed diorama’s will be showcased at the Tsawwassen Public Library.

October 31: Winners will be announced.

Halloween Costume Swap

Friday, October 17, 3 pm – 4 pm – Tsawwassen Library

Do you have any clean, unused or gently used Halloween costumes you’d like to donate? Bring them to the library and SWAP with other families!

Pro-D Day Series: Pumpkin Decorating

Friday, October 24, 3:30 – 4:30 – Tsawwassen Library

Celebrate Halloween with pumpkin decorating at the Tsawwassen Library. Enjoy spooky music, décor and snacks while you decorate. Small pumpkins and decorating material available while supplies last. Suitable for all ages 5+. Children under 10 must be accompanied by caregiver.

Halloween Storytime Week

October 28 – October 31

10:30 am – 11 am – Tsawwassen Library

Wear your Halloween costume and join us for a slightly spooky storytime and babytime. Bring one of your favourite stuffed animal friends, in costume. A treat will be provided!

Student Vacations during the School Year

Please understand that teachers are not required to provide study materials/assignments for students who are away on vacation during school days. Students may read everyday, keep a travel journal with facts related to the destination (in full sentences and/or well written paragraphs) and practice math facts (extension: math related word problems). Happy travels!

Parking Reminders

Please remember that:

  • the roundabout is for pick up and drop off only. Drivers need to stay with their car;
  • the parking lot is for Staff members only;
  • abide by the posted parking signs on our neighbouring streets at drop off and pick up.
