The National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, takes place each year on September 30 and honours Survivors and the children who never returned home, their families, and communities. The date of September 30, which aligns with Orange Shirt Day, is an opportunity for Canadians to learn and reflect on the legacy of the Canadian Indian residential school system. The Delta School District will recognize this day on Friday, September 27, by encouraging students to wear an orange shirt, and will be closed on Monday, Sep 30.
